Hi, I’m Jack!

Welcome to the place where all my questionable decisions get documented.

If you’re here, chances are you love travel, adventure, and maybe even eating way too much street food. Same.

Who Am I?

I was born in London but spent my childhood growing up in Zambia and Uganda, where I had the privilege of experiencing a rich blend of cultures, landscapes, and incredible food. My family moved to Wales when I started secondary school, settling in the Brecon Beacons, where I spent most of my time hiking, out with friends, and getting rained on. Growing up in such diverse places has shaped me into someone who’s always curious, eager to try new things, and deeply appreciative of different cultures.

I was lucky to grow up with a big family that shares my love for travel, which probably explains why I’m happiest on the move, discovering new places and meeting new people. I also have an unhealthy love for coffee (if I go missing, check the nearest café), music that makes long bus rides bearable, and saying yes to absolutely anything that sounds remotely fun. Want to climb a mountain at sunrise? I’m in. Try some weird local delicacy that may or may not still be moving? Let’s do it. Join a spontaneous road trip with strangers I just met? No hesitation.

I’m passionate about food, both cooking and eating. Whether it’s trying a new recipe or sampling street food while traveling, I’m all about experiencing the world through its flavours. I also love nature, animals, and anything that gets my adrenaline pumping—hiking, whitewater kayaking, mountainbiking, you name it. Basically, if it involves a bit of chaos and an incredible view, I’m interested.

When I’m not off exploring, I’m usually scheming my next adventure, messing around with cameras, or trying to learn how to make the perfect cup of coffee. I feel incredibly fortunate to have an international family that shares a love for travel, which has given me the opportunity to explore the world and experience different cultures firsthand.

Why This Blog?

This blog is just for fun, a place for me to write about the things I’m involved in, whether that’s traveling, outdoor adventures, or whatever else I find myself saying yes to. It started as a way to write about my South America trip, but now it’s basically a mix of chaos, adventure, and questionable decision-making. I’m currently backpacking through South America, so expect stories about getting lost, making new friends, and eating whatever the locals recommend (even when I have no idea what it is).

How I Travel

I like to keep things flexible, no rigid itineraries, just a rough idea and the freedom to go wherever seems interesting. The best adventures happen when you least expect them, so I’d rather follow a tip from a local than stick to a plan. I try to travel in a way that’s sustainable, budget-friendly, and full of unique experiences.

I’m also someone who enjoys the little things—campfires under the stars, a good book on a long journey, and those unexpected moments when you end up in the middle of nowhere with new friends and no idea what’s next.
